Ruxandra Serban is a producer of Romanian origin, based in France, who has spent more than thirteen years developing projects at the intersection of culture, entrepreneurship and investment.

A graduate in Economics and Management from the Louis Pasteur University of Strasbourg, she has built a singular career at the crossroads of communication, international strategy and auteur film.

A career between communication and international work

Ruxandra Serban began her professional path in communication. The agency she founded, ERKA, quickly earned a recognized standing on the Romanian market.

In 2016, she moved to Paris and gave her work an international dimension, serving clients in sixteen European countries. This experience built strong expertise in project structuring, international development and financing strategies.

An early commitment to Romanian film

Passionate about film, from 2013 she supported the production of several independent films from the Romanian New Wave, widely embraced by audiences:

  • Secretul lui Zorillo – The Dac Side of the Moon — Eugen Dediu

As well as several short films: Să mori de dragoste rănită – Dying from a Wound of Love (Iulia Rugină), Matilda, Redemsivir, Zéro, among others.

2023 — Founding Vent d'Est

Eager to fully engage in film production, in 2023 she founded Vent d'Est, an independent production company based in Paris, conceived as a creative bridge between Eastern and Western Europe.

Vent d'Est develops agile production models, adapted to the contemporary challenges of European film, and has built a participatory private investment model allowing business angels and investment funds to take part in film production within a structured and transparent framework.

The company combines artistic ambition with a medium- and long-term economic vision, creating a lasting link between the entrepreneurial world and the artistic world.

With Vent d'Est, Ruxandra Serban has produced several Romanian feature films:

All released theatrically and/or on platforms such as Netflix, HBO, as well as on premium Romanian television channels.

Dream Vessel Films — auteur animation

In 2015, she met director Anca Damian, with whom she co-founded the production company Dream Vessel Films, dedicated to meaningful and innovative animation film projects.

Vent d'Est holds 20% of the capital of Dream Vessel Films, and Ruxandra Serban takes an active part in its strategic development.

Governance & European commitment

Alongside her producing activity, Ruxandra Serban is involved in the governance and representation of European economic and cultural players.

She has been a member of the Board of Directors of CCIFER (French Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Romania) and is, more recently, President of CONAF France (National Confederation for Female Entrepreneurship), where she works to support female entrepreneurship and leadership at the European level.

A vision of film as lasting value

Through Vent d'Est and Dream Vessel Films, she pursues a vision of film as a space of creation, transmission and lasting value.

She explores new forms of collaboration between artists and investors, in the service of stories rooted in reality and open to the international scene.
